Rivertowns United considers player development, volunteer abilities and availability, and team needs when working with team families to determine the approach to coaching each team.
Teams generally fall into one of these models:
-- Expert parent coach training model -- team trainings and games are coached by parent coaches whose training and soccer expertise are on par with professional youth coaches
-- Integrated training model -- team trainings are coached by both professional youth coaches and trained parent coaches; parent coaches coach the games with occasional pro-coach attendance
-- Professional training model -- team trainings and games are coached by professional youth coaches youth coaches
Rivertown United's longstanding relationship with the NYCFC Youth Coaching organization means the club is served by highly-trained professional soccer coaches whose training and knowledge of the game is focused specifically on working with youth athletes. The pricing of each model differs based on the usage of professional trainers.
