By registering a child (a “Participant”) for any sports or activities provided by or through the Elkridge Youth Organization (“EYO”), you (the “Registrant”) thereby release and waive all demands, claims, causes of action, damages or liabilities (including claims grounded in negligence) that directly or indirectly arise out of Participant’s participation in EYO sports or activities, except to the extent an injury to the Participant is the direct result of intentional harms or of reckless, wanton or gross negligence by EYO without contributory negligence by the Participant or the Registrant. The Registrant, on behalf of the Registrant and the Participant, agrees that neither EYO, nor any EYO volunteers, staff or agents, shall be liable or responsible for any injury suffered by the Participant during or as a result of the Participant’s participation in EYO sports or activities, except to the extent such injury or injuries are the direct result of intentional harm or of reckless, wanton or gross negligence by EYO without contributory negligence by the Participant or the Registrant. The Registrant further agrees that the Registrant shall indemnify and hold harmless EYO, and EYO’s volunteers, staff or agents, against any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from the Participant’s participation in EYO sports or activities, including court costs or attorneys’ fees incurred by EYO or its volunteers, staff or agents in defending actions arising from the acts or omissions of the Participant or Registrant.
