Spring 2024 Season

Welcome to the registration for the Spring 2024 season of Oceanside National Little League! Registration is open to boys and girls born between September 2007 and August 2020 and as long as you live in or go to school within the ONLL boundaries. No prior experience necessary! Please note: if registering after January 13, 2024, your child may be placed on a waiting list depending on team availability.

If you have additional questions after reading the below, please reach out to our Registrar at [email protected].

STEP ONE - Confirm your child lives or goes to school in ONLL boundaries:
To confirm you are registering in the correct League, check your address here prior to registering. Little League Districts are formed by specific boundaries, and to play within Oceanside National Little League, players must either reside in or go to school in our boundaries and provide applicable documentation*.

STEP TWO - Determine your child's league age
Your players age is defined by their 'league age' not their chronological age. To check your child's league age, check the age calculator. ONLL has seven divisions:

  • T-ball (league age 4 - 6) - $165 registration fee
  • Farm (league age 7 & 8; age 6 may play provided they have played 1 season of T-ball) - $180 registration fee
  • AA (league age 8 & 9; age 7 may play provided they have played 1 season of Farm) - $180 registration fee
  • AAA (league age 9 - 11; must attend assessment* ) - $205 registration fee
  • Majors (league age 10 - 12 and attend assessment**) - $205 registration fee
  • Intermediate (league age 11 - 13 and must attend assessment**) - $205 registration fee
  • Juniors (league age 13 and up and must attend assessment***) - $205 registration fee

STEP THREE - Set up an account (if a new player) and register your player(s)
Register your child for the correct division using the links below. Once you set up an account, you'll be able to use your account to view registration confirmations, volunteer, see team schedules (once teams are formed), change your contact info, etc.

When you register, you will pay the registration fee PLUS a mandatory $40 fundraising fee. ONLL is a non-profit organization, and all of our funds raised stay in the League and are used toward equipment, lights, uniforms, etc. To keep our registration fees low, each player will also participate in a mandatory $40 fundraiser. For the $40, you will receive 4 raffle tickets that you can sell for $10 each, thus recouping your $40 fundraising fee (you keep the funds for the tickets you sell). At the end of the season, tickets are entered into a raffle to receive a family pack of tickets to a Padres game during the summer that the winners will enjoy from the picnic terrace with all our raffle winners.

STEP FOUR - Attend a Document Verification Day and Player Assessments, if in upper division (AAA, Majors, Intermediate, Juniors).
Attend a Document Verification Day and wait to hear from your coach if lower division (T-Ball, Farm, AA).

There are two ways to show proof of your child's ability to play for ONLL: School Enrollment Form or Residence Verification.

  1. School Enrollment Form (Preferred Method) The school the child attends must be within ONLL boundaries. This is the easiest as it just requires a signature by a school official.

  1. Residence Verification (child resides within the boundaries) requires three specific forms of proof of residence, one from each group and must be dated between February 2023 and February 2024.

Bring your School Enrollment Form OR Residence Verification documents AND child's original or certified Birth Certificate to one of the Document Verification Days to be verified by a League Official. Documents must be verified by a League Official before the child can begin practicing.

During Document Verification you will also submit a $100 check (one per player) as a snack bar volunteer deposit. The check will be held till your snack bar volunteer commitment has been completed. Once your commitment has been complete the check will be returned to you! For questions regarding snack bar please contact our Snack Bar Coordinator at [email protected].

Lower divisions (T-ball, Farm and AA) DO NOT have assessments, and players may request a buddy on the team, or request a manager/coach when signing up.

Upper divisions (AAA, Majors, Intermediate & Juniors) cannot request buddies or managers and MUST attend assessments. Assessments will be held at MLK Park in January 2024. Players only need to attend one of the assessment days. (Note: in order to be eligible to play All-Stars at the end of the season, players must attend an assessment unless they have a valid medical reason for not attending (ie broken arm during assessments).

ASSESSMENT & VERIFICATION FAQS
Where are assessments and verification held?
At the Juniors field at MLK park at 4300 Mesa Drive. The Juniors field is located at the West end, closet to MLK Middle School.
Does my child need to attend assessments?
If your child is playing in upper divisions (AAA, Majors, Intermediate or Juniors), they must attend either of the assessment days in the time slot applicable for their age.

My child has never played baseball before; will they be cut from a team if they don't do well during assessments?
Nope...all registered players will be drafted to a team regardless of performance and assessments! Little League is here to help your child learn, develop and grow!

My child has a conflict during assessment times; will they still be able to play on a team?
Yes! All players will be drafted onto a team even if they cannot attend assessments. Please note that those that cannot attend assessments will not be eligible to play All Stars at the end of the season. Also, they will be placed in a division based on their previous year division of play (unless their league age mandates a move up).

My child is ill / has an injury and cannot attend assessments. Does that mean they cannot play in All Stars?
If your child has a medical reason for not being able to attend assessments but wants to play All Stars, please reach out to the Player Agent to request approval due by the BOD.

We are out of town during document verification day. What do I do?
Great news! Friends and family can also bring your documents for you! (Just be sure you have all the correct documents; if you have any questions on documentation, please email [email protected] to verify ahead of time). Your friend can provide your documents, leave your snack bar deposit check, and pick up your raffle tickets for you.

Which documentation should I use...school form or address residency?
If your child attends school within ONLL boundaries, please use the School Enrollment Form as it's the easiest form of documentation for you to obtain. Note that a school administrator must sign the form; report cards cannot be accepted.
If your child does NOT attend school in our boundaries, then you will need to provide copies of THREE specific and dated address documents. Please be sure to utilize the Residency Eligibility Checklist before attending verification day. (Note: address documents must be dated between February 1, 2023 and February 1, 2024.)

Why do I need to bring my documents if I've uploaded them?
Unfortunately, the website does not have the capability to check and validate uploaded documents, which means a volunteer would need to manually check almost 1,000 documents one document at a time. So to streamline the process, we do quick physical checks in person. Keep in mind Little League International has strict requirements on valid documents, so if they are not complete and accurate at Verification Day, you will need to provide corrected documents before you child can practice so it's important to reference the checklist to make sure you have the correct documents on hand.

If I have to bring them in person, why did I have to upload them in the first place?
Unfortunately, the Little League International does not allow us to disable the upload requirement from the website.

I do not have my child's birth certificate; what do I do?
All players MUST have an original or certified copy of their birth certificate validated in person in order to play. A picture on your phone or a copy you have made will not suffice. Please reach out to the County office where your child was born and request an original or certified copy ASAP as it does take a few weeks to receive it.

Can I use a passport in instead of a birth certificate?
No, passports cannot be accepted.

I have a friend who's child wants to play but funds are tight. Is there a way for them to still register?
Yes! T-Mobile has a grant program with Little League International to help families in need. Interested families can apply online. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

FIELD ASSIGNMENTS AND PRACTICE SCHEDULES
I want to ensure my player will play at a specific field, can I request this?
ONLL primarily utilizes the fields at MLK Park, MLK Middle School and John Landes Park; however, depending on the number of teams other nearby parks and school fields may be used. Due to the number of players we cannot guarantee a specific field assignment in advance.

I want to request a specific practice time/day?
Practices can start as early as 4pm and weekday games can end as late as 9pm. We cannot guarantee specific practice, game, days or times due to the size of our league. Please consider transportation for your player prior to registering. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to [email protected].

Once your registration is complete, you will receive e-mails confirming the registration, as well as instructions for Document Verification and Assessment Days.

Looking forward to an amazing 2024 season!
