Alvin Delano Lassiter

<p>Alvin Delano Lassiter, 89, of Midlothian, VA and formerly a resident of Vienna, VA went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Foy Lassiter and Ruby Grant, and his sisters, Dolores Hiderbrant (Irvin), Elvie Lou Case (Casey) and brother, F.M. Lassiter (Sandy), and grandson, Kyle Alvin. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 67 years, Earlene Lassiter; his children, Kathy Sue and Louis Gordon (Patricia); his grandchildren, Megan (Kit), Jacob (Katie), Kaci, Matthew, Caleb, Autumn, Hope, Faith; great grandchildren, Thomas, Charlotte and Lily.</p><p><br></p><p>He graduated from Craddock High School and the Shipyard Apprentice School. He proudly worked in the United States Navy civil service and served part time in the National Guard. He worked hard his entire life to provide for his family everything he could.</p><p><br></p><p>“Big Al” was a true Giant of Vienna Little League Baseball and is on the league’s honor roll for his decades of service coaching his beloved Giants and assisting the league in other capacities. He mentored hundreds of children while coaching baseball and serving in the Awana program at Faith Baptist Church in Vienna.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd, Suffolk, VA 23435.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Vienna Little League, PO Box 61 Vienna, VA 22183.</p><p><br></p>
